The Anthem Challenge # 1

I have been reading Paul's blog for a while now. I am not sure how and when I stumbled there. It has become a ritual now to look out for his posts. He posted something very interesting:

I envy people who pull off these challenges with ease. I am never good with writing-related challenge but I decided to give this one a shot. I will not able to post everyday but will try to do a series of 10 posts. It might take me 10 days, 10 months, 10 years but will finish it.

So here's my first one:

The Anthem Challenge #1

To kickoff this series I will start with Freebird / Lynyrd Skynyrd

When I first heard this song I was immediately drawn towards it. This song represented a phase of life where I had left my loved ones for a new city and a new job. We all interpret songs differently. To me this song was about finding my ground and moving on in life.

Almost 10 years ago I was struggling to find my ground. I was a young adult with new found independence and more importantly my own Money. I felt like a king. It was a difficult time.
I met a lot of nice people and after a while they (I) moved on. Goodbyes were easy because we understood the need to move on.

The meanings have changed a lot in the past 10 years. These days I listen to this song while running
and it still feels appropriate..

For I must be travelin' on nowThere's too many places I got to see
